Digital Vomit's DER NARRENTURM PATHOLOGISH-ANATOMISCHES BUNDESMUSIK compilation.

Fresh out this week and sounding great is Digital vomits latest release (2nd of three this month!)

VARIOUS - Der Narrenturm (DVR053 MP3) : Digital Vomit : Free Download & Streaming : Internet Archive

The original call for tracks and the idea behind the release :
A celebration of deviationism, mutation and the beauty of genetic error.
It's about this museum in Vienna. I've never been there but have a leaflet a friend of mine who visited the museum brought me once. I have seen the website (http://www.narrenturm.at/), though… I'd write some blurb about it to convince people about the artistry and grace of the idea, but I'm busy being lazy, so I'll spare you my glaring prose.
The (general) idea is to make beautiful mutant tracks. as in WTF was that! (but so repelling and outlandish it's beautiful).

DIH / Distorted In Hindsight

A full story of DIH would go on for pages and pages but the short version is it was formed by a meeting by Manchester Poet Andy n and Bournemouth Noise terrorist Keith Hicc in 1997.

Frequently described as a cross between The Aphex Twin and Jack Kerouac if they met down a lonely highway, by the time we got to 2001 and 2002 when ‘Forever’ was recorded, DIH had already recorded 4 EP’s and had expanded into a three piece (with the addition of UK Dragon on additional keyboards).

Hicc07 DIH and friends – Christmas 2003

The Second of the annual Christmas albums. Originally only recorded for friends back in 2002, requests for copies of the series grew each year, as did the particapants list.

Intended as little more than a laugh, the series has become a more serious affair, and this can be seen in the chnages on quality over the years.

Hicc03 - DIH - Forever

‘Forever’ is DIH in a teacup with beats and white noise interplayed with Andy’s vocals, sometimes doing things in a totally different language altogether and set the scene for the albums that followed.Forever was recorded between 2001 - 2002 and has been frequently being described as a cross between The Aphex Twin and Jack Kerouac if they met on a lonely highway…

Since this recording, the band have released two full length albums - 'Internal Conflict' (2004) and 'Suicide (I meant forever)' (2006)

Hicc02 - Seven Ages – Beginning to understand at last

Notes by Andy N – 2010:

Besides being involved with noise, experimental and various other projects, I have always had a loving of ambient music in the form of Brian Eno or Global Communication (whose album 73:20) remains some of my favourite music, so when I first became involved with DIH, M.A.N. and my many other projects, it was always was natural I recorded an ambient album.

Seven Ages comprises of Six songs or parts if you like, it is a deep ambient journey that sinks into your head and out.

Hicc01 - Distance - Distance

Notes by Andy – 2010:
This was recorded at the end of 2005 originally as a one off jam by Tony and Andy N in what was planned as a W@ reunion (The previous band both Andy and Tony were in) but turned to be something very different when neither Andy or Tony could get the Microphone working.

By magic seemingly, it started raining really, really hard and Tony started then playing Bass in a way I had never seen him play along with the rain. I then set up my keyboard and it turned into a free form jam which went on for hours reminding me afterwards of the Tele:Funken remix of Flying Saucer Attack where the music becomes a mood.

Two further parts of this epic Jam forced the basis of Distance – Distance II which was released on Halo Excentrico.

Distance

Distance was formed in 2005 by Andy N and Tony.

Distance is for fans of Flying Saucer Attack, Bardo Pond or people who like Post Rock, where the form outstrips the music.

Music for Kids and Adults alike - The Party Training album

Q. What happens when you have Kids?
A. You end up listening to Lots of Children's songs. This can get mind numbing.

Q. What happens when you Electronic Music producers have Kids?
A. They to write a few songs for their kids.

Q. What happens when those Electronic Music producers are Keith Hic and UKDragon?
A. They get their Music producer friends from around the world to write songs that are aimed at kids but are also adult friendly.

The CD was the result of his idea; an album for the children, and the parents alike.

Thanks every one involved (even those without tracks) it's been a fun project.
Keith and Clara
A german blog (thanks Blood) found the album before we'd finished the artwork and by the time we's formally released it, it had several thousand downloads. It was a bit disconcerting, but really pleasing that people loved it so.

NOTES for burning this Compilation to CD:
As the full track listing is longer than a CD we recommend removing Track 11 ("Starting Again" - Cyan & Tara) and Track 14 ("Cyan Playing" - Cyan & Tara) and removing gaps between the tracks. This reduces the playing time to fit a CD

Welcome to Hicc Org Online (@ Blog)

We are a group of like minded artists who enjoy pushing the extremes of music and art.
HICC members are here to create and exchange ideas to create experimental music, be it bright and sparky or dark and foreboding - we welcome it all.
All ideas are taken on board and expanded upon.
Not a group, not a focus. Just some people sharing ideas.

Originally formed in 1998 as an umbrella name for Keith and Andy's works, HIC has continued to function as an entity enabling all members to help and promote each other and maximise coverage.
